One of the oldest Nollywood actors, Mr. Oniah, has revealed how he got paid the sum of Five Thousand Naira (5,000 Naira) in his last theatre work which lasted for four days.

Uncle Oniah has featured in many Nollywood movies and also in musical videos as well.

The actor made this known during a visit by popular comic actor, Muonago Collins, also known as NcheNollywood in his residence.

According to Nche, the actor who is still performing in the movie industry but not as usual disclosed that the producers are not treating him right, stating that he was being paid a little amount of money for a role played that lasted for four days.

The aged actor further revealed that the future of the movie industry is at stake as things are no longer moving the way they ought to have been.

Collins also urged the public to support the man through prayers so that he can be elevated from the circumstances.

Sharing pictures of the lovely visitation, Nche wrote;

“Meet the oldest man in Nollywood, how many still remember this uncle?… His name is Uncle Oniah.

We are not sending money but prayers and good wishes. He is still acting but some of our producers are not trying.

Uncle said that In his last job he was paid 5k for 4 days and that wasn’t encouraging, he also said that the way movie is going now he wonder the hope of our upcoming actors, ‘think about it.”

Veteran Nollywood actor, Roy Denanie, has been showered with love from Nollywood stars and revealed all that he has been passing through for the past 13 years he got banned from the movie industry which was his source of livelihood.

The actor who has not been showing up in movies for many years past received a surprise visit from comic actor, Muonago Collins Nche, who delivered the sum of Twenty Five Thousand Naira (25,000 Naira) contributed to him as Valentine’s gift.

Nche revealed that he traveled all the way from Nnewi, Anambra State, to his residence at Enugu to have a happy moment with him and to deliver the cash gift which was supported by actress Juliet Ekeson and a young man whom he identified by his Instagram handle, @chukwukachiemelie.

The comic actor said;

“You know they said it that it is not when somebody died that you will go and post it online. I did not even know that he was sick and got recovered. I did not know anywhere, he was the one that by himself came to the road to direct me to his house. The first movie we acted together was ‘oga on top.’’

Denanie expressed boundless joy for being gifted with the money and rain prayers on Nche for his efforts in making the support be a reality.

Narrating his misfortunes, he said;

“There was a time Ejike Asiegbu wanted to be the president of Nollywood. I don’t know the kind of misunderstanding he had with marketers and he said that they asked him not to be bringing movies and other things to them anymore. By then we were in Mark Devils, he asked me to pray against those people. Unfortunately, the leader of marketers heard of it and he commanded that nobody should give me work to do anymore hence I prayed against them. He didn’t even call me to find out the real fact.

But the prayer I made was that God should help the junior actors whom we see as our children to progress. I don’t even know that somebody has gone to meet him, telling him that I prayed against him and the marketers and he made the command. For over 13 years now I have not been working. It is some persons that on their own call me to act for them sometimes.

Look at, some of these properties in this house were bought 25 years ago and no new items have been added. Very soon the Landlord will give me a quick notice. NEPA staff too will come to disconnect the power. All these things are what I have been passing through. My children in higher institutions are finding it difficult to meet up.”

He added that he was shocked when the comic actor called him to notify him of the good gesture.

Nche further stated that the old actor needs financial support and those willing to help him should make it known so that means of reaching him will be made available.
