Rihanna is busy rehearsing to get her Super Bowl performance right

Rihanna has been hard at work.

The 34-year-old crooner from Barbados has reportedly been busy preparing for her big singing career comeback.

The Umbrella singer will perform at the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in Arizona on February 12 when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

It will be her first public performance since the 2018 Grammys, where she won Best Rap/Sung Performance.

‘She is ready for the Super Bowl. She is rehearsing right now. She’s very excited, ready, and focused,’ a source told People on Wednesday.

The source added: ‘She can’t wait to kill it.’

Her return to music started in October.

That is when she released her first new song since 2016, Life Me Up.

The tune was featured in the Marvel Studios film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman.

The song earned the beauty her first Golden Globe nomination and her first Academy Award nomination, both for Best Original Song.

In January, Apple Music shared a teaser for the Halftime Show with Rihanna.

The nine-time Grammy winner posed in a black and white room.

She was sporting a black catsuit paired with an oversized furry neon yellow coat.

She also shared a sneak peak of her new Savage X Fenty Game Day Collection, which featured a black and white football jersey with a large X emblazoned across the front.

During an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Rihanna’s long-time parter, rapper A$AP Rocky shared his thoughts about Rihanna taking the stage once again.

‘I’m so glad that my lady’s back making music again and whatnot and getting back out there,’ he said. ‘It’s just incredible.’

He continued, ‘The Super Bowl is huge, and her being the creative she is, she going to bring it, man. I’m excited. I’m more excited than everybody else, honestly.’

The Diamonds songstress and the Sundress rapper recently welcomed their first baby in May.

Her source told PEOPLE: ‘Last year was the most amazing year for her. She took a long break to focus on her baby boy.

‘She is obsessed with him and feels fortunate that she has been able to slow down and just be a mom.’

Rihanna and A$AP have yet to reveal the name of their baby boy to the world; however, they did share a first look at their son back in December with an adorable video on TikTok.

In September, Seth Dudowsky, NFL Head of Music, shared a statement announcing Rihanna as the performer for the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show.

He said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Rihanna to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show stage. Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career.

‘We look forward to collaborating with Rihanna, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to bring fans another historic Halftime Show performance.’
