Nigerian singer Naira Marley and his manager Sam Larry have been granted bail by a Lagos magistrate court after weeks in detention. They were granted bail with two sureties with N20 million each, and are to submit their international passports and report at the state CID every Tuesday.

The magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, also warned that anyone who calls her would be recorded and played live in the open court.

Marley and Larry were arrested on October 4, 2023, for their alleged involvement in the death of their signee, Mohbad. They were initially remanded in custody for 21 days, but their detention was extended on multiple occasions.

Their bail was granted after their lawyers successfully argued that they had been detained for longer than the constitutional maximum of 30 days without trial.

Marley and Larry are scheduled to appear in court again on November 21, 2023.
