The manager asks me to leave the stage – Flavour recalls the moment PSquare came to a bar he used to perform (Video)
Popular high-life singer Chinedu Okoli, also known as Flavour N’abania, recounted his journey to fame, including an incident where he was asked to leave the stage during a performance with the now-defunct group PSquare, featuring Peter and Paul Okoye.
On the ‘In My Opinion’ podcast, Flavour shared how he started his music career as a choir conductor and drummer in church, serving with a music band for 13 years.
The singer eventually left the band and moved on to performing at shows and events.
Reflecting on his encounter with PSquare at a show in Enugu, Flavour shared how the experience became a turning point in his career, saying:
“So the promoters brought Psquare while I was playing, and immediately Psquare came; the manager just said, ‘Hello, off that thing.’
“I switched off, passed the microphone, and went to sit. Then when Paul of Psqaure picked up the microphone and just said, ‘This na temptation’ everywhere scattered.”
Flavour revealed that the experience made him realize the importance of developing his unique sound and evolving from just a musician to a true artist.
