FA Cup final: Chelsea women complete unbeaten treble with 3-0 win over Man United

Chelsea women capped a historic domestic campaign in emphatic style on Sunday, dismantling Manchester United 3-0 in the FA Cup final to secure a sensational unbeaten treble under first-year head coach Sonia Bompastor.

With the Wembley victory, the Blues added a sixth FA Cup title to their trophy cabinet, having already claimed the Women’s Super League and League Cup earlier in the season, all without tasting defeat.

It marks just the second treble in the club’s women’s history and extends Bompastor’s perfect record in domestic finals to five out of five, including her tenure at Lyon.

The scoreline, while dominant, belied early pressure from United. Dominique Janssen nearly gave the holders a surprise lead before Chelsea settled in the game.

The breakthrough came moments before halftime when Sandy Baltimore calmly converted a penalty after Erin Cuthbert was brought down by Celin Bizet.

United rallied briefly after the restart, but Chelsea’s standout saves from goalkeeper Hannah Hampton kept the Red Devils at bay.

Catarina Macario’s well-timed header late on extinguished any hopes of a comeback, before Baltimore struck again in stoppage time to seal her brace and cement the Blues’ status as the domestic invincibles.
